Effect of hill on range

I drive all over Europe in my MG5, its hilly!

The 1000m+ climb out of Santander is usually 2 miles per kWh if I'm pushing it, 2.5 if more careful, so half the range, but in general the ups & downs balance out, you just adapt your driving to get the best range.

Stelvio to Lake Como, I managed over 100km with zero energy use!

The peak district is little more than a speed bump! I wouldn't worry, your driving style and learning how to eek out more range from an EV is more important. Driving style & heater usage dwarf the terrain issue in the rather flat UK.

Good evening folks,

I’m currently debating on wether an mg5 will work for me. I can manage with 150 mile range. Is a 2021 LR likely to be able to do this in the Derbyshire Peak District with equivalent of 2 adults and camping gear on board?.
Thankyou and apologies if this has already been discussed.
The family (four adults) frequently go to the Peak District and back at the weekend from Manchester, and it only uses about 50% of the battery. I have a SR MG5 from 2021 - wish I'd waited for the Long Range!

I’ve had both the SR and LR and I don’t think there’s much difference in range. I think the SR battery deals with the cold better than the LR as the loss of range was less
