EMG MG Ipswich - MG Dealer Discussion, Opinions & Experiences

I'm really past caring. I have their MG4 courtesy car. If/once I get my car back I'll have a long think about whether I keep it.
 
I would add the rest of the car is fine. But sadly if it keeps this up I can't trust MG
 
As of today Friday day 9 at tge dealers on visit number 6 the car has not been fixed.
MG UK failed to deliver the part. Onto Monday then. MG UK says the dealer ordered the wrong bit. EMG say nothing arrived. Neither know when it will ve fixed

As of today 17th March the car is still at the dealership. MG UK finally sent the right replacement t box as they thought the original replacement was faulty. As before it worked and then wouldn't activate. As we head for month 5 of the issue and 2 weeks at the dealer on visit number 6 I don't get the feeling that MG UK know how to fix it.

If anyone knows a high up contact at MG UK who could help me please let me know
 
They await MG UK tech support who I guess await someone in China
 
Thursday 19th. Still no progress. The dealer held a video call with MG UK but it still hasnt activated.
 
So as we drift to week 4 at the dealer for visit 6 the news is mg uk suspect a wiring fault.

Sadly, "suspecting" something after 4 weeks doesn't sound that hopeful to me. Fingers crossed for you, but as you said on 3rd March... "they seem to be incapable of sorting this" :(
 
Called EMG today it isn't the wiring. Tomorrow Thursday at the start of week 4 they will fit a new gateway module. It links the canvas to tge t box and obdii port I think.

EMG thank God keep pushing mg uk
 
So week four at the dealer nearly 5 months into a warranty issue & the 6th visit.
The Gateway module arrived Thursday was fitted and no success. A new ariel is on order, maybe after that a new car?

So it will be 5 weeks on Thursday & 5 months since the fault appeared.
The aerial arrived today Tuesday. It was fitted & car still has the fault.
I have made a formal complaint to EMG asking them to request MG UK to take the car back & refund me fully.

After I wrote this EMG did call me & assured me they would press MG UK. As I didn't buy the car from them but from Drive MG in Leaminton Spa I should ask them to ask MG UK to take the car back. So I have emailed them.

EMG are not the villains in this MG UK are. EMG have been very supportive but they are a kind of post box doing what MG asks.

As someone who is experiencing exactly the same situation (new T-Box fitted but cannot be coded to the car, or vice versa) but with an S5 and a different dealer in a different area of the country, I would wholeheartedly concur with this!
