Preaching to the converted here, but I thought some of the battery-heads might appreciate this article about re-using EV batteries for stationary storage.

Also - is that a photo of a smashed MGS5? If so it can't be very old! But maybe it is virtually the same on the side view as all the other cars in the class.

Definitely going to be more batteries re-used. Especially in cases like the member on here with the new MG5 that drove over a bit of plastic and made a little crack in the battery low-voltage connector and was written off.

The car appears to be a BYD Atto, btw...

The line "As I was leaving his workshop, Francisco points out a wrecked grey BYD. It had been involved in a head on collision but you can still drive it." sort of gave it away

This is nothing new has been happening for many years. EV batteries have 2nd ,3rd lifes some alot go back in to EVs as 2nd hand packs
Alot that have degradation are suitable for storage.
