EV Tariffs Withdrawn

It looks like some suppliers have withdrawn their EV tariffs from new customers. It could be because of the Trump Iran war pushing up fuel prices or it could be because the new price cap comes in next month.
Yeah this kind of behaviour isn't good for consumer choice.

We had a free for all previously with loads of companies, some of which were not really able to take on the financial risks involved in energy trading and they went under. The problem with going the other way with a few bigger providers is that there won't be much competition and people will just have to put up with whatever tariffs they are offered.

I wonder if the price cap is going to be a problem if this is a protracted war. It gets revised every few months but it is supposed to reflect the cost of the energy and when there is a war in the middle east that price goes up a lot.

Trump is an absolute danger to the world, as is Hesgeth.

E.on has reinstated an EV tariff but at a higher rate in effect wiping out the April price drop caused by the government's removal of the green levy.

What actual rates are the current vs. expect reduction in April vs. the new price you are referring to?

Are we talking like 15p per kWh vs. 7p or something not as drastic?

All the more reason to look at solar and battery upgrades so you can charge your EV for free. If they are going to reduce the discounts they offer for EV charging, then why sell them your solar power for bugger all, then have to buy it back to charge the car.
Basically, if they figure they can profiteer from a war breaking out, don't sell them cheap solar power .....

I signed up for a new dual fuel fixed deal with EDF only last week, my current fix with them did not expire until the end of March, but I decided to renew early.
I signed for a new one year fix electric deal to commence at the end of March and a two year fixed deal on our gas to start straight away.
This was because the gas tariff was slightly cheaper than our current tariff.
Yesterday I spoke to them again to ensure my new deal was in place ( due to news that many fix deals had been pulled ).
The advisor told me that they were honouring new deals made before the announcement, but not after.
Only variable tariffs on offer when I spoke to them.
I am certainly glad I renewed early when I did !.
