It looks like some suppliers have withdrawn their EV tariffs from new customers. It could be because of the Trump Iran war pushing up fuel prices or it could be because the new price cap comes in next month.
In the UK suppliers offer a cheaper electricity tariff, usually from midnight to 6 am, to charge your EV.No Idea. Whats an EV Tarrif?
Yeah this kind of behaviour isn't good for consumer choice. It looks like some suppliers have withdrawn their EV tariffs from new customers. It could be because of the Trump Iran war pushing up fuel prices or it could be because the new price cap comes in next month.
What actual rates are the current vs. expect reduction in April vs. the new price you are referring to?E.on has reinstated an EV tariff but at a higher rate in effect wiping out the April price drop caused by the government's removal of the green levy.
All the more reason to look at solar and battery upgrades so you can charge your EV for free
But still, money better in your pocket than their pocket... but only practical "up here" for about 6 months over the summer

For the price cap, these are the "average" UK rates before and after April. Average because of course they vary region to region. What actual rates are the current vs. expect reduction in April vs. the new price you are referring to?
Are we talking like 15p per kWh vs. 7p or something not as drastic?
I was just waiting for the new prices to be available.@Gomev, I understand the price caps - I was asking @Ian Key about how much the EV (i.e. overnight) rate had gone up, that he was alluding to in post #5.
about the same here just got a quote for renewal of octopus go 9.5 off peak 33.68 day rate 48.72 standing charge. But I noticed the term is only for 6 months it was always 12.I was just waiting for the new prices to be available.
At the moment I pay 7.5p/kWh from midnight to 6am, 27.68p/kWh daytime and 60p/day standing charge.
The new rate is 9.5p/kWh night rate, 31.37 day rate and 60p daily standing charge.
Yep, the price cap only applies to the price cap tariff for each supplier. However it seems to be the one to compare to or complain about. Oh it might be cheap overnight but it costs more during the day than the price cap.....etc etc type scenarios, so still worth mentioning.Pricer caps do not apply to EV tariffs.
Dave here is an excellent explanation of the latest price cap from Martin Lewis and what it means for fixed price tariffsPricer caps do not apply to EV tariffs.
