External air ventilation- how?

Just purchased my MG and loving it - but cannot get the EXTERNAL air circulation to work without it turning on the AIR COND at same time? Any suggestions

There is a button for recirculation or external air. If you press it, you get recirc. Otherwise you will have fresh air coming in through the usual plenum chamber.
The button is next to the aircon button.

Thanks Tim - can see the recirc button and if it off then external air symbol shows but air cond comes on - doesnt seem to be a way to get external air going without invoking air conditioning - when you dial up the air level - any other car just boost more air through whether it's on recirc or external but if you increase air flow dial you get air cond that comes on - apologies if I'm missing something but this is usually straightforward as in other cars.

Just turn AC off when you have turned off recirc.

thanks Gomev - tried that as well - external air indicator comes on - but you cannot increase the air intake without the aircond coming back on - really weird?

Anyone else ? I could turn off recirc to have outside air and then turn off the aircon.

AC only comes on automatically on mine if I select front screen demist. Any other settings it stays off if it was off when I last used it, or it comes on if it was on last time I used it.
When I turn off demist it reverts back to whatever it was set to before, AC off if it was off before demisting.

Same with me, only a very small amount of external air without air con on, turning up fan only makes air turn on. I ended up buying window shields/weather guards and opening the window a crack.

Thanks Steven - yeah I have a feeling this is it in terms of an answer - I'm getting no answers from dealership and only because it's so close to my home might just pop in there next week and chat to service guys just to finally confirm it. Have a small list of other bits and pieces want them to tick off as well so will post when I know more.

You don't need to press anything it is automatically on fresh air, the button you are pressing is the front screen demist button which automatically turns on the A/C, you can change where the air comes out of which vents by pressing the vent buttons and the infotainment system will show you what you have selected

Isn't this the windscreen demister button? or do you mean a touchscreen button in some menu?
