Morning All!
10 days into my HS PHEV owning journey and generally I'm loving the car though still finding my way around the various MG Pilot features.
I can't figure out if I'm missing something or if my car has a fault with it's Forward Collision Warning (FCW) and Active Emergency Braking (AEB).
I've not experienced it activating even when I've attempted to play 'chicken', leaving my braking to the last second to test if it's working.
Do 'we' know if it's a known issue on the HS PHEV in this forum? Your collective wisdom on the subject would be appreciated. TIA.

I have an MG4 EV, and the system definitely works. I've had it seven months. Yesterday for the first time, as I was negotiating a narrow road with parked cars and pulling out round one after a car had gone past the other way, it slammed the brakes on and started beeping dramatically. The car behind nearly went into the back of me. I have now added switching the Collision Detect to Alert rather than Alert and Brake to my routine of features I switch off when I get into the car because they don't work or behave unreliably (Speed Sign Detection, Lane Assist (Alert only)), as well as setting the car to Eco and Energy Saving mode.

Ok. I've witnessed this working now. Still not sure how consistent it is.

When in acc toggle the left joystick to the right to increase the gap between you and the Car in front or left to reduce the gap. Mine did the same till I adjusted the gap to number 2. Try that.

This is definitely it. Even though ICA is not enabled, the gap setting between cars is an indicator of how willing it is to brake. In the city center I have been using it with 1 car gap, it only slammed the brakes on 2 instances. Although it alerted due to FCW more than 100 times.

I find driving normal without the "Intelegent Driver Assist" better and sometimes safer, on more than one occasion when approaching a bridge on the motorway the car starts to slow down as if the car is treating the bridge as a car and not an obstacle. When I had the ZS Hybrid Plus I always drove on int asst and acc as that was the most economical way to drive especially on long distances and got some brill results with mpg. But with our hs phev toggling between ev and hev it does it all for you. Not been on a long journey yet with this but I have put ev and hev on the star button and it's a cracking system.
