If anyone with a Gen 1 is interested and has a 3d printer, I've designed and 3d printed a tool to aid the removal of the very stiff, headlamp rear covers when changing the bulbs.

Download the .stl file if you have a 3d printer. With my setting shown on thingiverse it takes just over an hour to print on my old CTC dual (Makerbot clone).
