I have had many a good time in Yorkshire and the people are fantastic ....but.... the Pennines are there for a reason!

WTF (what the festivities)... since when did counties have their own day? Is this like an excuse for Clinton Cards to sell more paper?

Call me old-fashioned, but the only good thing about it being the 1st August is trying to spot cars with the new year's registration letter..... oh wait...

It's actually the 40th anniversary of Yorkshire day, so it's been going a while.

Yes I also remember eagerly looking out for cars with the new reg. letter on 1st August.

Well I've got to say yes, and I'll let you into a little secret @salty. I've lived in Yorkshire all my life, but I was actually born in Lancashire. My parents lived in Hawes and when I was born my mum had to be rushed into hospital, and it turned out that the nearest hospital was Lancaster Royal Infirmary, but if you tell anybody about this, I will hunt you down!
