HARDwire a dashcam?

hoping for some concrete answers on hardwiring a 21 plate HS Phev for a Nextbase dashcam 522.

I use a ODB plug into the ODB reader socket then just run the cable hidden up to the dash camera. It has a switch on it so will only power up when you start the car or have power running all the time. This stops you pulling the dash to bits getting to the fuse board. See link below.

Why do you use a ODB cable when you can use a USB cable as well?

Because you can hide all the wires and no ugly wire draped over the center console to plug in to the usb port.

Nextbase do a hard wire kit. It has fuse base that you insert into the fuse board then the fuse that was in the board slots into the kit so you still have a fuse circuit and the camera can draw power.

Have worded it badly but is simple.

@Jto - Any chance that you could do a video showing how you ran the cable? I'm pondering on installing a dashcam in my HS, but not sure how to run the cable.
