Have you noticed fuel prices going up

The Merc is 2 axle
My DUF is 3 axle middle is a lift axle
Both rear axle
Yes it could but 24.5T to give leeway
Still trying to get the terminology right in my head.
Over here:
a single axle drive can also have a lazy axle that goes in front of the drive axle, either lifted mechanically, or by the leverage of the suspension when the load is applied. These are also always single steer, a single wheel each side at the front to steer with, but can have different width wheels to carry additional load, like a heavy engine or the turntable forward of the drive axle to spread the weight across all the tyres on the ground ..... this is the critical weight in Australia, individual weight per wheel set.

The next is a bogie drive, the most common, both rear axles have a diff and can be locked remotely to drive the wheels each side on each axle together, and a power divider lock that creates all 4 wheels on the drive to turn so get through a mud hole, sand or slippery road conditions
These can also have up to two steer axles, so 4 wheels steering, again to spread the weight across more wheels that contact the road.
There can also be a lazy axle and sometimes, for big heavy special loads, a 3rd drive axle, triaxle drive and these are generally also twin steer .....

So, a 6 x 4 is bogie drive, single steer etc

T1 Terry

I was on that version but jumped early to V.17 a couple of weeks ago taking the gamble that when my contract ended in November it would be a lot higher. Only time will tell if I was right.

UPDATE: I've just looked and the latest version is V21. Night rate 9p/kWh, day rate 28.44p/kWh and a standing charge of 60p/day.

November is long way away, 2 more price cap changes before then. Fixed prices are based on future predictions of prices so will be based on even further out than that. I am waiting a bit/lot longer before deciding on any fixes, after all the war could end in 2 weeks according to the orange decider of fates.

I'm not playing your game anymore. I'm now paying 5.99p but in my defence I have just locked in my prices for another 12 months.

Well done. I'd have done better to wait till February to lock in my price but I didn't know how long the offer would stay open for, so I just went for it in October.

How long ago did you set that sweet deal up?
The previous owners of the house installed solar in 2015, so we inherited their FiT rates, 19p for generation plus 50% of generation (deemed export) at 7p. So we average just over 23p for every kWh we generate, even if we use it ourselves. Prior to getting an EV and the Zappi we exported 70-80% of what we generated, last year that dropped to 60%, I'm hoping to get it below 50% this year.

I had a quick squint at todays petrol prices and there is an odd anomaly. One of the two garages in Peebles is suddenly showing 185.9p/l for unleaded. It could be that someone has entered the diesel price by mistake, but it's the same on two different price checker sites. Who may both be copying the same error of course. Most places are showing somewhere between 150p and 160p.

Unless it's a harbinger of things to come.

HGV fuel in main services getting hard to find luckily fuel bunker sites still ok but it's starting to bite
Jet A1 is gonna get short soon
Last day driving the Merc

So what’s been your overall impression of using the electric machine ?

Berlingo did 19 miles yesterday. I topped it up last night by 20%! To get back to approximately the 80% mark.
It has cost me £0.05. I’m guessing my diesel auto Berlingo’s would have been around £4.00 for the same use - and need a drop or two of adblue and a contribution to an oil change and a bit towards a timing belt and water pump change etc etc. so all told I think I traveled for close to free. I celebrated with a baked potato with cheese, beans and salad along with a coffee for £5.40 so perhaps the diesel was better ?? Nah 🤩

That is nice work if you can get it! You must turn a fair profit.
When we bought the property the agent mentioned the solar but we didn't really take much notice of it, we probably spent more time looking at the stables paddock etc than the house. Initially the FiT payments equated to our electricity bill, but that soon fell behind as prices ramped up. Without a smart meter I only had the generation meter to show what was happening (apart from the inverter in the loft) so just accepted the payments. Now with the Zappi and smart meter I can maximise self consumption. Last year the payments topped the electricity bill by about about £100 and that's with (now) 2 EVs charged at home bar a couple of weeks away.

Just like driving a big Ev ,smooth power uptake and braking,
If firm had own charger it could be worked more as a fast recharge is less than 2 hours
If they got one , yes i would drive it
