Hazard Lights Flash Automatically

So when I am sitting in traffic, behind another vehicle, on several occasions I have seen from the reflection of the vehicle in front, that my hazard lights can sometimes flash several times. No warning lights or messages displayed, and the car continues as normal. This has really got me puzzled as to why this happens. I saw another MGS5 on the road on the opposite side of the road and the same flashing of hazard lights was on that vehicle too. I know it isn't an issue with my car but wondering why it does this.

Not sure but I haven't used OPD yet, so maybe it could be a safety feature when someone from behind is approaching at a high speed. Will take notice.

It will probably be the rear collision warning system, and it'll work something like as this.
