Headrest position on HS

I've had my HS PHEV for 4 days now and I can't find a comfortable position for the headrest. It pushes my head forward beyond the point to where it's comfortable and my shoulders feel unsupported. I recall a couple of the reviews I watched before purchasing mentioned the same issue. I've ordered an 'Aukee memory foam car neck pillow' from Amazon in the hope that it will help. Wondering if anyone has found a decent 'hack' that they can live with?

Yes, I saw similar 'MG' branded versions in Ali Express but plumped for one with a speedier delivery from Amazon.

Yes indeed, the quicker the better if you can't find a comfortable driving position.

OK, so this was NOT the answer. Have ordered a replacement in the hope that this one will feel less like a lump in my neck and will give more shoulder support. The reviews for this one are much better. Seriously considering taking the headrest out and trying to modify it. Wondered if swapping it for a rear headrest might help as they appear slightly smaller. I'm loving the HS generally, but this could ruin the driving experience for me.

How upright do you have the back of the seat?

Are you trying to drive with your head in contact with the headrest? If so, that's not what they're for. Their principal job is to stop your head moving backwards, at high speed, in an accident and snapping your neck.

If you recline the seat back a tiny fraction so your head isn't touching the rest, your shoulder will naturally come into contact with the seat, which may be more comfortable in the long term.

I say this as someone who averaged 40K p.a. for the 30 years prior to the pandemic and has a lifetime (43 years) total well over 1.5 million miles.

To be fair, I looked at the BYD Seal U DM-i too. I was impressed with the finish but baulked at the negative reviews of the ride in the end. It was a close call between that and the HS PHEV.

I too looked at the MG HS PHEV, but because I'm a company car driver, no dealer within 50 miles would even let me have a 10 minutes test drive and despite emails to the MG Business Driver unit, no one ever got back to me. Whereas one of the two BYD dealers within 5 miles of my front door, allowed me to have a 4 hour, unaccompanied test drive so I could give it a good run to see if 500 miles days would be possible.

Granted, it's not the most dynamic drive in the world, but then nor is a Mitsubishi Outlander PHEV or a classic Ioniq HEV. I'm not looking for a sports car, I need something to get me from A to B to C to D and back to A when the round trip could be 400 - 500 miles and I'd still like to be able to walk at the end of the day. I needed to go back to an SUV for the sake of my aging knees and 6% BIK isn't to be sniffed at either.
