MG4 (2022-2025)
With the heating turned off on touch screen I still get very warm air coming into cabin
Has anybody had this problem and display saying it is switched off and also on button control

Your profile says you are driving an MG4, but I assume you are referring to a problem with a MG HS PHEV (2025+).

Yes I think I have seen something similar. Here is a typical scenario:
  • My car is on pure EV mode, with 75 miles range showing on the dashboard
  • I drive on the motorway at 70mph, with the heater OFF to conserve electrical power
  • After about 60 miles of driving, the EV range drops to zero, and the petrol engine kicks in
  • After about 5 miles more of driving (using petrol of course) I find that the air vents are suddenly pumping warm air into the cabin.
    • This is obviously nice on a cold morning's commute to work, but unexpected because the heating is off!
My assumption was that there was excessive heat coming off the petrol engine, and therefore (once it's warmed up) it gets put through the air vents. However, the weird thing is that it does not occur 100% of the time. Ballpark 50% of the time I find that (even when switched to petrol, and the temperature gauge has gone up to the middle) there's still no heat being pumped through the air vents (with the heating switched off, and the outside air temperature seems approximately the same as before).
  • In other words, there is no logic to what happens (sometimes it heats the cabin, sometimes it does not)
  • I don't think I've got the other heating settings (auto & air-recirculation) in different positions, so that doesn't seem to explain it => it's a mystery!
So I've learnt to just accept the unpredictable behaviour (it's not a big issue for me). But I kind of suspect that you're seeing something similar.

When you say the heating is switched off, what are you doing to achieve that?
Last summer I was switching the temperature down to "Lo" which seemed to do the trick.
Have you tried closing/switching off all the vents, would that stop it?
I haven't had the ICE working lately so I can't comment on the unwanted heat issue.
