Hi All, Purchased a 22 plate ZS EV last Friday. Been a Ford owner for over 20 years so never really had to ask about the controls of a new car.
All seems to be fine and working out how to work all the features but we can’t get hot air to come out the vents. Just blows out tepid air. Had it back to garage to look at it but they found no issues and when the husband picked it up there was warm air coming out.
It’s not on eco mode and blower up full blast at high but still only managing tepid air. Cabin temp never above 21/22. Just want to exclude user error before we go back to the garage. Thanks

Hi, I was just about to ask a very similar question. Had my 73 plate ZS EV for about a month, and now that it’s turning cold wanted to know the best settings to get warm feet for the driver and front passenger while driving.

Best setting for getting the cabin heated up on a cold day is usually.

1. Do not set it to ECO, the ECO setting will limit how much power the heating element will be allowed to consume.

2. Start the cabin heating 10 minutes before leaving, this way the car has a chance of heating up a bit before you start the journey.

Also....If you put on the seat heating, you will need less heating in the cabin, the temperture can easily be set a few degrees lower and the heated seats use a LOT less heat, than the heater in the car

Please remember, this car has no heatpump so every joule of energy it needs to heat the air is drawn from the traction battery.

With a heatpump the car would be able to consume 1kW of electricity for every 3-4kW of heat, but without a heatpump, the car uses, what is essentially a toaster / blow dryer, to generate heat, so you are essentially burning 1kW of electricity to produce 1kW of heat.
