Great little/Big car the dogs love it.
Had mine from new, its now 20 month old (ordinary 53.KW model)
Nothing major only the rear screen washer pipe blown of due to heavy frost in the winter
Range varies from 2.9 - 5.4 miles/ KW very dependant on external temperature.
In my case I have never had worsethan a real 155 mile range and a best 234 mile range so I suspect in the summer you shoud break the 250 mile barrier.
Remember if all else fails always turn the car off and lock the doors.
When you unlock the doors and re satr every thing it usually is ok

Hi - ref. the rear screen washer pipe blown of due to heavy frost in the winter. Can I ask if you had this fixed by the dealer, and if it was done under warranty. I know it's an easy fix, but mine dropped water on the electrics and I fear I might be getting a bill ...

My screenwasher repair was done under warranty but it was repaired when the vehicle was only about 12 month old. It was seen as a "an early life failure". Also the car was in for its first service and my dealer O C Davies are excellent and understand customer care.

Warning to every MG5 owner put extra concentrated screenwasher in car between the month of November and February. (prevention is better than a repair also much cheaper)

I agree. When this became a 'known issue', it should have been done as part of the pre-delivery process or, at least be done at first service. It must have cost MG less if they had just told dealers to do every car. It would have saved them the additional cost of sorting out the wet electrics. Mine has been in the dealer for more than a week as a consequence of the pipe being disconnected - a whole lot of grief!

Good advice, might be a good idea to pop off the trims at the windscreen and hatch and add tie wraps to the joints in question as a preventative measure too, only a few minutes work and the guides are already on this forum.

I just received a message from the dealer - "There will be no charge to yourself for the time spent on your vehicle". Phew! The more of us who report the job as being done under warranty, the easier it will be for others to insist that theirs is done likewise. (For the record, my '5' just turned 2 years old, so the repair under warranty isn't limited to 'nearly new'.)

MG5 Washer Jets Freezing

Mine did the same today except I washed the inside of the windscreen. There is a joint in the pipe feeding the rear washer behind the plastic trim on the driver side a pillar. The trim is clipped in place so can be popped of. Put a cable tie around the rubber joint to hopefully make it grip a...

My post with photos of each step in securing the joint behind the screen pillar trim. Only basic tools are needed. I tried using cable ties, but it popped off again, so I changed to spring clips - they have been secure ever since.

MG5 won't turn off

This has just happened to me. Did you manage to fix it. I am desperate OP was a flybynight, he never came back after his last post above. Have you tried disconnecting the 12V battery? The above has worked for an MG ZS.
