I really dislike this. If you press the wrong button on the remote sometimes the horn starts beeping for some stupid reason. Also if you try to lock the car when the boot isn't finished closing or a door is open. Isn't it illegal in UK to use the horn between 11pm and 7am?

It has been programmed in such a way that, if you are genuinely trying to fully lock up the car, then leave it parked up securely.
Then if any of the doors, boot or bonnet have been left slightly open, then it will remind you of the fact, by sounding the horn, usually once, in order to notify you of the fact.
So, if you try to fully lock up the car and leave when the boot is still closing, then it is going to sound the horn.
Completely as it was designed and programmed to do ?.
When the boot is still closing, or a door is only closed on the first catch, it will trigger the horn.
A gentle.reminder for the driver to go back and check the position of her items.

I would be happy if it only beeped once briefly. I've already had a few instances where the alarm went off for no reason. Yesterday again, I locked the car and a few seconds later the alarm went off. All the doors were properly locked. I turned off the alarm with the remote control, locked it again, and it went off again. This happened about three times. I then turned on the ignition once, and only then was I able to lock the car without setting off the alarm.
This has happened to me a few times now.

I am just making the point that the car is sending you warning by beeping the horn, when it is still in the process of carrying out you last request for closing and latching the boot.
Plus there is a very slight delay in the car recognising this, after the boot had latched itself on the odd occasion I find, which I have witnesses once or twice myself.
I normally close the boot from the fob, while standing next to the drivers door,
From here I can see the boot close, pulled in by the motor, then finally latch.
But if I then hit the door lock button, instantly as the boot latches, then you CAN get the single beep from the horn occasionally.
A slight pause before locking the doors and it is fine, so there is a slight delay in the car clearing the command I think here.
The command sent from the fob is instant of course, but the close and latch process is lengthy in comparison to the door locking which is instant of course.
I think this delay is clearly the previous command by the cars brain is what we are witnessing, or the good old fashion glitch in the system of course 👍🤣.
I still find it bazar, why after you have left the car, the radio continues to keep playing until you have locked it ?.
Another odd way of programming the car don’t you think ?.
I mean, why would anybody still want the radio playing while they are unloading your weekly shop from the supermarket 🤷🏻 beats me that one 🤣.

Not had this one YET - Give it time though - Glitch obviously 🤣 !.
Not really what you want if you not close to the car to correct it, then to find the 12 volt battery had been depleted by the alarm going off constantly.
TOP TIP - Never travel without a battery jumper pack and your emergency backup up blade to open the drivers door when your battery 🪫 runs flat !.
Question 🙋- Does anybody know is the S5 has any internal monitoring of the cabin space, when the alarm is activated 🤷🏻.
Both of our previous ZS EV’s had NO cabin space monitoring, only triggered by opening the doors, boot or bonnet when armed 👍.

No No, not again please. 🤣😉🙂👍
