MG HS PHEV
Hi all,

As per title really, after looking and looking at the HSEV PHEV and being annoyed by the low slung rear view mirror, I finally found the solution on here and the available adjustment now makes this car viable.

If there's any head's up advice on what to look for when driving one of these then it would be much appreciated.

Any "try this when driving" and "check for the....." will be of great help.

Many thanks in advance

Hi,

Not sure if it's a new or used car you are after, or if you are buying from an MG dealer. Obviously a new one from the MG network has less risk. I've seen reports of the drivers door switch that controls the windows and mirror playing up and on some exclusive models the stitching on the drivers seat cover pulling apart.

That's about it. I have a phev exclusive and it's all good , so far no issues. Well specced and very comfortable.

Hope this helps

Hi, many thanks for that.

It is a new main dealer supplied Exclusive who has 3 in stock so no waiting time which is a bonus. Black, white & red available.
If there's no driving quirks to look out for then it sounds good.

Will post back after test drive.

Thanks again

Hi,

Good they have a selection to choose from.

If you are in EV mode you will notice a slight pause in power delivery around 40 ish MPH, that's it changing gear. It has 4 gears for electric and 6 for the engine so 10 in total. When in hybrid mode it's generally pretty smooth (aside from a slight buzzing from the petrol engine), it can feel ever so slightly juddery in stop start traffic but that's being picky as I mainly drive a ZS EV. Overall the car drives very well and the hybrid system is good, the two motors provide a good smooth level of power.

The heating will only work with the engine on so be aware of that if you are thinking pure EV mode only all year round, you can turn off the heat once warm and then go EV to juggle things around and you have heated seats, but it's hard not to use petrol as you need heating to stop it steaming up.

For the money it's a good car but make sure it fits your needs and expectations on running costs. So far ours is about 15p a mile.

Try to take over a big lorry on the freeway on EV mode...or just try driving on freeway on EV mode....you will notice the motor lag much faster.

2nd. Just a warning.....cold (2-5© ) + wet weather that combination will get u a car that fogs up the minute you get in.... Just saying.

3. Try driving/parking backwards/forwards in the car with and without looking at the camera's.

4. Passenger seat front can not be adjusted in height...remember that.

Have a play around with the audio system, Sat Nav and air con/heating system. You might need to be willing to adjust quickly to the ponderous screen changes. The system is very "Laggy!"

Great car, pays to read the Handbook as the vehicle has so many features. Good value for money or it was when earlier this year when dealer discounts were high.
