HUD not working

so on my way to work this morning i have noticed the HUD (heads up display) is not working.
i tried to turn it off and on again and still nothing.
and once i got to work i turned the car on and off and still not working.
i am going to leave it to rest for the day and see if it sorts its self out while i am at work.

if not i will disconnect the 12v battery for a short while and see if that solves it.

but has anyone else had problems with the HUD?

I haven't noticed any issues apart from maybe my eyes not being up to scratch, letters and numbers looking slightly fuzzy ... maybe I need glasses
it might help if you disconnect 12 v battery, but you'll probably lose saved trip info "to date" and "since last charge", not sure what happens with favourites on radio and other saved settings. Also, worth trying but not sure if that works on S6 - press the home button switch on the dial for 5-10 seconds and see if that resets the infotainment unit, then check that HUD is switched on in the settings

Not had any issues this end, have you tried a reset of the infotainment system to see it that helps? Lot easier as a first solution rather than disconnecting the battery and have to reset all the functions.

Also have you checked no one has turned it off in the settings, only mentioning this as someone who will remain nameless turned it off as she found it distracting at night and didn't think to mention it to me the next morning when I was heading out.

i willl try the reset befor i go for the battery when im home.
but i did check the settings and turned it on and off in there to see if it was a simple problem first

What I do have are a very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career of fiddling with cars. Skills that make me a nightmare for problems like you. If you let my HUD work now, that'll be the end of it. I will not look for you, I will not pursue you. But if you don't, I will look for you, I will find you, and I will fix you.

My HUD didn’t turn on once last week. It worked again after a 5 mins stop.
