Hi @Totti1001, I am not angry with you as I totally respect your opinion as well@PFCWales, I respect your opinion, of course, but I cannot share it at all. Please don't be angry with me, and I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but you are the best example of the kind of buyer manufacturers want.
Whether it's a gimmick or not, when I buy a vehicle with certain features, I want it to work as advertised. I find it a little incomprehensible how one can put up with all the faults just because one doesn't value them oneself. Why buy such a vehicle in the first place?
To be clear: I liked the HS too, otherwise I wouldn't have bought it, but if that's the attitude of some buyers, it's no wonder that the manufacturer doesn't bother to fix the faults.
I also agree that manufacturers of products that do not perform as advertised should be held to account to rectify them, especially if there is a direct safety implication (the systems I have looked after are mostly SIL4 rated). I get the feeling from MG that we are basically 'test drivers' for these new features, and comments and feedback from discussion groups like this is used to refine the functionality in the next generation of vehicles - not the ones we currently own.
MG seem to be churning out a new model every few months, and I am concerned (as some others have mentioned) if all features new vehicles have been fully tested in all use cases. A good example of this is the seat latch failure during the NCAP tests on the new MG3. Out of interest, I asked my salesman (who I have known for over 10 years) about this particular issue and if MG were going to issue a recall since this is a direct safety issue. His response was disappointing, basically down playing the problem and claiming it seemed to be more of an issue of how NCAP did the testing. These are the issue that worry/concern/annoy me, but as @salty said - all folk think differently.
Have a great Christmas all
