After having my 21plt exclusive SR for 6months I highly recommend a used MG5 as a second car
My reasons
Second hand values of SR and early LR are low
2 they're still fun as heck to drive in any mode
The boot is big

If the design of the car fits your needs then it is a no brainer really. The MG5 is very underrated car.

It has a good sized boot, is very easy to drive and has a good turn of speed if needed. It does what it says on the tin - a good family EV.
Not overloaded with tech but modern enough for most people.

It has features which I really like:-
1) When starting up, it warns you if the steering wheel is no straight.
2) When charging, you can press the door button and the display shows you how much charge you have left - saves unlocking the car and starting it to check.
3) Physical buttons for demisting, heated rear window, aircon and heated seats.
4) A trip and long distance display showing time, distance and efficiency
5) You can lock/unlock the doors using the door button - keeping the key in your pocket.
6) You can open the boot (with key in pocket), place items inside, close the boot and the car will automatically lock again.

It is a very easy car to live with. Not too big in town but spacious enough for a full shopping load.
The seats fold to carry bulky items to the tip! It is quiet and gives a reasonably comfortable ride.

It is really good vehicle to choose if you are tempted to go full electric. If you ignore the cost benefits owning an EV gives, then the quietness and instant torque make it a very refined car compared to many ICE cars. You would need to go to Mercedes / Jaguar / Bentley to get such level of refinement in an ICE car.

Am I biased? YES! BUT you need to OWN an EV to fully appreciate how good they are.
