In a past life I was an auto electrician for a specialist repairers, and worked on a prototype Interceptor. This one had a semicircle of leather seating in the back, it looked superb, but was an electrical disaster area, which is why I had it to sort out!

Certainly no fun without a big workshop and a hoist

I built a 10m x 6m garage/workshop/man-cave in the back garden & later added a 2 post lift.
The lift very rarely gets used, but it's a very cool tool/toy
Due to the restricted roof height I have to use a wheeled crawler board that also turns into a wheeled stool.
But anything sporty (not an SUV) goes up by approximately 4'-5'.
Meaning there's plenty of access in a seated position.

Looks good, mine will need to be at least 5 mtrs high, hopefully 6 mtrs plus, so I can get the motorhome in there and be able to walk on the roof while having a harness/fall arrester connected to the roof beams .... I have no wish to find out if I'm a bouncer or not .....
The hoist will be a much missed item, I had 3 in my mechanical workshop business and they make life so much easier ......

We were supposed to be away travelling in the Hino in the first shot with all the solar panels on the roof, but I'd decided to do a service on it and it was in the workshop the night of the fire, so the 100 ltrs of diesel in the tank didn't make things any better.

About all I can put it down to was a robbery and they burnt the place to cover their tracks .......

The house and our replacement motorhome that I'd spent 6 mths making right for our get away travels, burning to the ground 15 mths after the workshop fire just about finished us.
We had the Silver Prius we were in at the time and our clothes we were wearing, and that was it ..... we had returned for a 2 mth shakedown trip two days before and we were 36kms away at a doctors appointment when the neighbour rang us to tell us the motorhome and house were on fire ..... we stood on the raised concrete driveway to house's back and watched it burn to the ground.
What wasn't in the workshop upstairs that we brought with us from Wollongong, was at the house .....

You never get what you lost, I'd say we lost about 50% in financial terms in each fire ..... personal terms, we lost everything but our lives

I don't know how his mental health has survived it. Bouncing back after the second fire must have been incredibly difficult. But at least they're not hurt and they have each other.

If you could click your fingers and make an internal combustion engine car into a battery powered version of the car, what car would you choose?

I think a Lotus Elise would be a good candidate for a quick EV conversion job.
