A mate of mine who's into American custom vehicles. Purchased a pickup truck that had a very expensive paint job that made it look like a rusty old wreck from a distance.
But when you got closer it was just a paint job!
Not my idea of money well spent. However, it was definitely different!

A car I always revered as a beautiful thing to drive was the Austin/ Morris land crab. I think that and an ev power train would be lovely. Perhaps the Wolesley version as it was a bit more plush.
It was fairly refined, handled reasonably well in standard trim.
Or a Land Rover

Definitely not the Wolesley version. The extra light on the illuminated front grill badge, featured on Wolesleys, would be an unwanted drain on the battery and result in a lower WLTP rating.

Just so many golden oldies that would make brilliant donor cars ..... I'd love to do a Purvis Eureka Forgotten Cars of Australia: The Purvis Eureka - carsales.com.au but the price just for the shell is getting out of reach now

Think virtually any car, or even better, a van, converted to a powerful EV, would be great. The looks of amazement on ICE performance cars, when you left them at the lights, would be absolutely priceless.

The only way to keep one of those, looking like that, is in a photo just like that
If you could find one that had lived it's life in the Australian outback, away from the salt spray .... leave it there and save yourself the heartache ......

They were like the '60's Triumph Bonneville, look great, felt nice to ride because it was one of those rare events between working on it .....

Not ones that will dangle the Dunlops they all bolt up to the original gearbox .....
That requires the MG4 with a Zombie inverter card dialled up to 250kw with 10" wide tyres so it doesn't just change direction as you leave the lights and face the way you were coming from .....battery pack under the floor to keep the weight low so the wheels are the part in contact with the bitumen, a silent assassin ..... until you turn the sound track on anyway

I thought I had a picture of it but can’t find it. It was blue with a double silver stripe on the sides and served well for many years.
