IM5/IM6 Improvement requests?

I forgot to add something for the improvement! The ability to change the threshold when the speed warning goes off!!

Yes, MG UK are aware of the issues/requests made via this forum and also on Facebook groups, and are working on addressing these in the future.

Thank you very much for trying to help improve the IMs. They are great cars but like all things there is room for improvement.
 
After 6 weeks of IM ownership generally very happy but would like to see:-

1. Auto headlight dip
2. Switching ACC mode off via stalk button isn't smooth and creates quite an unpleasant thud
3. Regen always defaults back to full on start up meaning re-customisation on every journey to alter to non or light
4.Unless I'm missing something again after customising screen brightness it seems to default to full again on start up

I do not seem to suffer from this. When I disengage pilot (by pressing down on the stalk) it seems to first revert to ‘normal cruise control (it keeps to the set speed) and then I flick up at that disengages. No jerks of thumps...
 
I think it's absolutely crucial to highlight that the lack of auto-dimming headlights and the bad efficiency figures of the performance models (which gets quoted everywhere) are 2 biggest reasons many people have decided to not go for an IM. It makes business sense for them to look into fixing these ASAP. MG also seem to hand their performance models for range tests, which is like shooting themselves in the foot.
Bad efficiency? I'm getting over 4 mi/kWh and it's midwinter!
 
Think we all know, you ain't gonna, get the advertised range. So do your homework, this forum for example. And if you think it's still ok, for your needs. Then buy it, simple's really. And to not buy a car, that you really like, because it's not got Auto-
Dimming headlights. Is a bit daft. Only my opinion of course. 🙂👍
 
Well, I got to say guys, when I got the car temperatures were a bit warmer and on a run I could get around 3.5 ( eco mode, duel carriage, not thrashing it-average 70mph). Since the cold snap I’m averaging 2.4 on short runs around town and 2.9-3.1 on a run.
Short runs in the cold are going to suffer, lots of power to heat the battery etc. on a run an average of 3 isn’t great but as soon as it warms up a bit outside I would be surprised not to hit 3.6+
What we really need is something easy to pre-heat the car whilst plugged in and then the low 2 experience should disappear.
I know you can preheat from the app but the layout is cr*p and it needs refining, that not a car issue its poor implementation from MG. - rant over 🤣😂
 
I think you are the only one as it is a hot topic on the Facebook group how poor efficiency people are seeing
I have the IM6 long range and am not seeing poor efficiency. However, that rather depends on what you mean and what you expect. My IM6 LR atm is giving me better efficiency than my old Ioniq 5 AWD..
 
I am still seeing between 2 to 2,6 best case scenario. I managed to see a 3 but with AC off as a trial.
No way I am driving like this. I like my comforts. 21 temp set and in the morning I heat the seat and the steering wheel.
I am driving though extremely consciously. Eco and very relaxed on acceleration etc.

I would say anything below 2.8/2.9 at this time of year is pretty poor
