Hi all,

I’ve had my new HS Trophy PHEV for about 4 weeks now but only noticed something strange today. When braking a little more firmly to stop in traffic, I noticed in the reflection on the car in front that my front indicators were flashing and went off when I was stationary. The rears may have been flashing too, but I couldn’t tell because there was nothing visual or audible in the car say that the indicators were flashing.

I wasn’t braking hard at all so I don’t think it was anything to do with emergency braking and the forward collision warning didn’t come on. Has anyone come across this before?

I've seen this a couple of times in similar situations to yours. I assumed it's some kind of emergency warning whilst not being an especially emergency situation!

It's probably the Rear Collision Warning, as discussed in this MG4 thread and elsewhere:

I just started to write a post about the same issue with my MGS5, though it has happened to me with no cars behind me at all. I don’t feel like I’m braking too late or aggressively, the front collision doesn’t bing bong at me and nothing in the car tells me they are flashing - like the OP I just noticed it in the reflection of the car in front.

It doesn’t bother me other than it might be confusing to other drivers and I don’t know when my car is doing it unless I catch it in the reflection. Kind of an annoying “feature”!

I believe that you should be able to switch the rear collision detection warning off on the MGPilot menu which should stop it happening. I’ve just left mine on as it’s not really an issue for me.
