The following questions are all concerning the same scenario:

I am using Waze (or it could equally be Google or Apple Maps) on CarPlay.
I want to switch to Sport mode while continuing to use Waze, quickly and with minimum button presses.

Q1: Is there any way to configuring Sport mode on all the time? If the answer is yes, the remaining questions fall away.

Q2: Using the onscreen UI, is there any quicker way of achieving it than:
  1. Press Car
  2. Select Sport
  3. Press Home
  4. Press CarPlay
Q2: If I configure a steering wheel button to driving mode, it rotates through all the modes. Is there any way of stopping it switching off OPD when it does?

Q3: If not, is there a quick way of switching OPD back on?

Q4: I recognise that I could set the other button to regeneration, but I want to have a button dedicated to 360° view, so an alternative question might be “Is there a quick way of turning on 360° view?"

OK, I think you've given me the best way out (in the absence of any other answers!)

I have configured a steering wheel button to driving mode, but I know that I must only press it once, from Normal to Sport. That is the transition I want in a hurry (if I see an opportunity for a rapid overtake).

I can then make the four button presses to get back to Normal, at my convenience, when stopped at lights or whatever.

Are you sure there's a difference in acceleration when you flatten it?
I've read in other places, that there isn't.
Sport mode changes a few things, but not flat out acceleration.

It doesn't on your MG4 but I think I've read somewhere that the MGS5 Trophy restricts the initial max power output unless in Sport mode.

A couple of days ago I put the S5 into Sport mode for the first time, pressed the pedal-to-the-metal, and accidentally swallowed all my fillings!

Yes, Sport mode gives you a 0-60 of about 6 seconds
...it should be illegal.

I agree. If I'd had this car when I was 19, and a real boy racer, I very much doubt that I would have made it to 20. 😅🤣🤣
