I saw this and I thought how ironic. An Octopus Energy van on charge at a Source London charge point and at 64p /kWh!
Any other pictures on the same theme?

@slmorgan42, not far from the place I took the photo starting this thread there are EV's parked in a double charging bay not on charge or even connected, using it for EV parking.

Problem there is there's no sign to say EV Charging only so they take advantage.

Can only think "Time is money" - better to plug in somewhere convenient and save time than go somewhere to get an Octopus discount.

They are imposing revenue collection fines over this side for tying up a charging bay, even if it is an EV, but not actually charging.
I think it's a great idea, the charger operator allows 20 mins I think it is, to unplug and move from the charging bay, or they add a parking charge because your vehicle is blocking potential sales for the charger owner .... and I feel that is also the right thing to do ....

Same here and probably at the sites in those images too but there has to be signage saying it's restricted or any fines can be contested.

The chargers in my photos do have signage but it just say charging bay and Permit holders only (Local permits needed to park in our streets).

That said the council has been issuing tickets for being parked there and not charging.

So, will you be contesting the tickets?

Funny enough I have. Not on the 22kW chargers as these are meant for charging parking only.

But the council is slowly turning all lamppost in to 5kW chargers and I did fight and win a PCN for these.

The council have acknowledge it was never the intent to make these ones dedicated parking just for charging as it would leave nowhere in the street to park if every lamppost was converted.

That sounds like a great idea, plug into a light pole, how do the bill for the use of such a system?

It's just like any other charger really. Contactless or app. As a resident you could a small discount through the app.

The main provider currently is ZEST. This is a photo of the lamppost ones.
