iSmart app not working.

I’ve been using the iSMART app with my MG S5 for about 7 months without any issues. However, over the past couple of days the app has stopped responding. Whenever I open it, the screen freezes and the app becomes unresponsive.


I’ve already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, but the problem still persists.


Has anyone else experienced this issue recently or found a solution?
 
Mine's been working OK

Did you turn your phone off after uninstalling the app and then back on again to clear any memory of the app that might be remaining?

Have any system updates been installed about the time the app stopped working?
 
My app is doing the same. Pretty sure it's the latest android 16 update causing the app to fail. Others on the Australian FB owners group have encountered it.
 
Could be MG's servers that are causing the problem. I'm on Android 16 and as I said in post #2 I don't have any problems with the iSmart app freezing or connecting.

An app update in the play store has now fixed it. By the sounds of it was only pixel users that had the issue. These devices always get the android updates first.
 
My app has stopped working last night, says network unavailable.
Not sure why, it was working fine and now nothing.
I’ve tried restarting the screens in the car, logging out and back in.
Nothing.
 
Having had 3 years with an MG4 where the ismart app worked most of the time, the experiences with the MGS5 has been somewhat different! Only had the car a couple of weeks where initially it’s been fine but this week hasn’t been. In the mornings the car just doesn’t respond to the app at all unless I actually go and sit in and start it. Then it seems ok until the next morning. I do have a pixel phone which has been mentioned as a potential issue, but the app and the phone are up to date from a software perspective. Might uninstall the app and try again to see if that helps.
 
I went to load the app today and it would not load and just crashed out. Previously has worked fine. Displays a very quick window saying it does not work using a VPN. I to my knowledge did not use a VPN but I do use duckduckgo ad blocker. I did have it switched off for mg I smart but something has happened with Google and I have had to completely switch off duck duck go. The app for ismart now works fine again. I have an Android 15 phone. It would appear that there is no escape from being tracked etc and advertised to, welcome to big brother and the 21st century.
