iSmart App Update ... Android v3.0.3

The app updated today when I checked for updates in Google Play Store. I've not noticed anything different yet though.
The only difference I've noticed is when you tap the owner's manual accessed via the home page it throws you back to the home page.

Obviously the previous version was relatively bug free and they couldn't have that 🤣

Android version 3.0.3 Updated January 7th.
Can't use the app anymore :-(

The error appears even when no VPN is actively used by the MG iSMART app.

I see that message also!

I use AdGuard for Android to "remove" the plethora of ads that seem to infest Android. Within its (AdGuard's) App Management settings I see a message that MGiSMART is "Not routed through AdGuard" but only by turning AG off I can access iSMART??? I've sent a support ticket to AG developers, whilst admitting this may be a problem with iSMART. (The previous release of the MG app did not suffer this problem!)

I get that message when I fire up my VPN, but otherwise it works as expected.
Same for me, but its annoying as the VPN is my Tailscale tunnel and only routes traffic to the Tailscale endpoints over it. Everything else goes out over WiFi / mobile data APN

I had this, it appears my Samsung Galaxy had decided to activate a VPN in settings and the app needs to know where you are to function, try disconnecting VPN in settings like I did and it connects again

As I previously said I am not using a VPN but the app says I am. Also, it was working fine until the regent upgrade.
Neither was I but mine was also ok until the upgrade and the settings had changed on my phone

I can't even get into the app to check the settings. It keeps closing down
Sorry not clear of me, its the settings in your.mobile you need to check for VPN, I had the same trouble, the app kept kicking me out until I changed the settings on my phone

If you have a Samsung phone, check in apps if you have AppCloud installed and running. If it is, disable it. It's adware/bloatware installed by Samsung and can prevent some apps from working.

I found this out when a number of my apps would hang or take a long time to log on. It's to do with the apps detecting an unsafe operating environment.

So from my perspective, iSmart 3.0.3 on Samsung S10+ (Android 12) has introduced the following changes:
  1. The front & rear lights now don’t illuminate when you check/refresh the status of the car
  2. The temperature displayed in the climate panel now seems it indicate the correct temperature (and not -37 degrees!)
However the following issues still exist:
  1. The total mileage count is always 1-2 miles less than displayed on the dash
  2. The front screen still seems to show ‘ - - miles’ range more often than not
And a new bug seems to have been introduced - which is when I turn on the climate control to warm up the car, after an overnight charge, and its still plugged in, the charging power shows charging at 4.6kW, ( = 20A @ 230v) which is very interesting since it connected to a granny charger that is limited to 10A (2.3kW) ?? 🤔
