Hi, is anyone else suffering a glitch with the iSmart app? From yesterday onwards, I can open the app, but it's not retrieving any data from the MG5.

Any tips on how to escalate? The last time the app failed, I emailed both the email listed on Playstore and the email inside the app but never received a response - poor service MG!

Should I contact MG GB or the dealer? Could be coincidence, but I had the car serviced by a main dealer the day before.

Too much of a coincidence, if you’re the only one having issues, get on to the dealer that serviced it..

I’m having issues. I tried to open the app on Wednesday and had a message saying token expired. Tried to login but said that my email wasn’t registered (which it was). After a few login attempts I tried to change my password but still wouldn’t recognise my email so had to set up a new account. Now can’t bind the new account to my phone as it says the car is bonded to another account. Had the option to force unbind and I just keep getting a text saying ‘transfer to new owner has started”. Bloody annoying as I sometimes have to start charging via the app. Any ideas how to sort - guess it’ll be a trip to the dealer to reset?

Welcome Bhubiz, this forum is really global😃. Just yesterday ismart came up with 'token expired' which means you have to log back in, I think it's a security measure. However, after loading the app I had to renew the password which involved a verification code that lasted ten minutes. It wouldn't accept a password generated by my iPhone as there were dashes in it, which it didn't like. As I attempted to delete these dashes, and with finger trouble on the small keys, it timed out on me🤬. This happened several times. 🤬 I decided to make up my own password and I managed to get logged in within the allotted time. In doing so it revealed an update to the layout. It seemed to be quicker as well. The version I have is 3.1.0. Maybe you should check the version and see if it's up to date. Other than that it works OK, to refresh the screen just pull it down and you should get a wee rotating symbol to show its refreshing. Hope this helps.
The other thread is 'ismart issues' on the MGS5 forum. It seems to affect all MG models

I think that it will sort itself out but will take a few days. I seem to remember people saying that when you force the unbind it tries to contact the current bound user giving them an opportunity to reject the unbinding. As the current user is you - there probably wont be an objection.
