Hi experts

Anyone any idea how to resolve this strange problem.

The Ismart app on my android phone is not working anymore, no updates, GPS position or battery life or remote control for ac or heater is possible. It says car not responding. Latest version btw.

Strange thing is, i have Bluetooth connection with the app and the car in the app for Keyless lock and start. However nothing working.

I already rebooted the infotainment system. No Luck. Uninstalled the ismart app en reinstall. Login, same issue.

Installed on different android phone, login with account, same issue.

Then i tried to unbind and rebind it via the car. After rebinding and loggin in i get a error message on screen saying "invallid token" thats all. But the Login is succesfull however no Luck and app not updating nor working.

Anyone knows how to resolve this token error in car infotainment system/software ismart part?

Thanks for any help in advance 🙏

How is it today @breaky, i-Smart had been out of action for us all for a couple of days, but OK now.

Oh that's interesting Clive. Mine has been working ok. I wonder if it's been a regional thing because I've been able to remotely access the cars data through the app, turn on battery heating etc etc.

@MG Clive Today the same issue, not responding and getting no updates. My region is Europe, the Netherlands.

Exactly the same as shown in the picture off that post 😀

Ok, during the summer of 2025 I had almost exactly the same issue as you describe. Except the message that I got was different. It said 'vehicle not responding' constantly. My dealer & myself tried everything to get it to work. Then MG got involved & tried to fix it after I contacted them through the app. It turned out I needed a completely new software suite to be loaded as a corruption to the Telematics system had occurred. This it appears was caused by a technician disconnecting the cars 12v battery when the car was still in the 'on ready state'. That's like shutting down your Windows computer by pulling out the power lead from it's socket! It caused some software corruption.

So after the car spent 3.5hrs on the MG server (paid for by MG) the problem was solved. Works every time now. Just food for thought.

That is exacly the same it says that in Dutch in the ismart app, "vehicle not responding, please try again later" this is since december 30th, but i checked in the cars infotainment system and when i open the user which is am logged in with it quickly throws an error message "token invallid" so that must be the issue. But i do not have any clue in how to resolve it in the car.

Our ZS EV is connected to our Home Assistant, home automation system, the integration "pretends" to be an "app user" so this works just like if you open up the app.

Here we have been without connection to the server, just like if we opened the app in these intervals since Januar 1

January 2. 12:36 PM to 10:08 PM
January 4. 9:15 AM to 1:40 PM

In Home assistant this manifests itself as "sensors" being "Unavailable"

Just got a reply from the ismart app support:
Guess i need to make a workshop appointment to get it fixed and sorted out, i have no idea what that box is :)

When that is done i will update this thread again !
Appointment made for thursday 15th of january, so a few more cold days of ice and snow scrathing from the cold car ;)

@MG Clive sounds like the exact same issue as you had!

Dear customer,

Thank you for your email.

It is recommended that you visit the authorized workshop to have the telematics box refresh.

Thank you for your cooperation and understanding. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach out at any time.

Best regards,

ismart-service team

Well how about this, it started working again today after 10 days, just out of the blue. I tried every day 3 to 4 times a day, and it updated its GPS position and battery life. And i can use the app again.

What do you guys think, should i still go to the dealer and let them refresh and update all software or cancel it?

@MG Clive after you had it done, does the app always work and better then before? Just curious because many times after 24 hours if it is parked it never does work for me. Is that better after or similar behaviour?

Thanks for your reply 🙏

Your car will still go to sleep after a a period of time no matter what software updates you have. This preserves power. The fact you have experienced issues recently is good reason to still see your dealer for a Telematics software refresh even though it now seems to be working again. It may not carry on working seamlessly until you do. In addition, having the Telematics refreshed to the latest version will allow other computer modules to be updated. All of the updates improve your car & it's reliability.

Updates are done, and the app is working as bad as before, hahaha.

With bad i mean, when the car is in sleep mode it is useless. And when the battery is 30% or lower it is useless for turning on the heater/AC. Also useless because after 10 minutes it will shutdown if you use it, i can only start it 3 times in a row or in a specific time window. Then no more it says to many usage of the remote app functions.

The main issue here is, i only use it in the winter and summer, winter useless if car is parked for more then 24 hours, the car is in sleep mode. They need to make a wake up function so the user is in control. And that goes for all other stuff, when battery is 30% or lower, well let me as a user set this, and let 10% be the deadline.

In summer i need to cool the car, with those 10 minutes and only 3 attemps (30 minutes max) it is not all the time enough, and in winter times my windows will not defrost, don't speak of the sleeping car, which one can get into a hot car during summer or defrost the windows yourself ;)

I hope someone of MG and Ismart reads this, are they even using it thereselves??
