iSmart v2.1.2 update 13/2/25

Hi all. Just loaded the latest update for mg iSMART app and it doesn’t open. Any one else have that problem?

I have just loaded the MG iSMART app update on my iPhone and the app won’t work. I press the mg app , it shows the MG icon page and then immediately reverts to the app. It won’t open the app. I had no problem before the update. The model is an MG4 ev essence (aust).

I removed the app and downloaded the app again from the App Store. It is now working. Phew! Thanks all.

There is a new iOS version (2.1.2) for Aus & NZ on the App Store. My app is 2.1.1 and in the update section, it says that 2.1.1 is the current version.

In the interest of experience, I updated my app, which then killed it. I would get the logo and then nothing.

Fortunately, a simple solution worked for me. I deleted the app, then reinstalled. I had to put in my password again, and now the app works fine.

You got there before I did.

Have you noticed any differences? A few things seem rearranged, although I find it hard to remember exactly.

With version 2, I stumbled across the themes in the settings and have been using the 100 Years one.

Mine updated overnight and sure enough it won’t open the app. Reinstalling worked.

It seems most changes have been made to he default theme, the 100 year theme has only added a button to take you to the manuals as far as I can tell at first glance.

Still the same: have to use the status page first to get any results. Sigh.

I can view the manuals for all models. You need to set the year to 2024 instead of the default 2025

The manual was fine in V1, but V2 has consistently failed. I thought it was downloading at one point, but nothing. I have the book, so it's only annoying

Oh. I just remembered - I did get manuals on my tablet, but nothing I do on my phone gets them to appear.

I had trouble finding the manuals on the app too, until I realised that the "sorry! there is no data" message applied to the most recent version only, picked the correct year for my car and voila! What a dipstick.

Of course, MG could prevent such confusion by releasing the 2025 manual towards the end of 2024. Preferably with a year's worth of thoughtful improvements.

That could happen, if MG changed their attitude to after sales support. Perhaps I'm dreaming.
