Hi all,

my 3 hybrid can be a bit jerky trying to keep a steady speed, around 45mph, in HEV mode, in EV mode it's fine.

Has anyone else had this ?

Pete

I'm new to hybrids but my car is not jerky. I am however still getting used to the regen happening when I ease of the accellerator. Maybe this is what you are feeling?

Definitely jerky, wants to go but doesn't want to go. Can be very jerky, only around this speed and only in hev mode

Mine does it at about a steady 40mph, I think its the car not deciding what gear to be in. I've read somewhere it's quite common for this car.

I have the same problem with my MG ZS, since it has the same hybrid engine. When I first bought it in March 2025, the transition from EV to HEV was completely smooth and unnoticeable, but after about 7,000 miles I started experiencing this strange issue as well, at a steady speed of 40 mph. Even during acceleration from 0, when it reaches that speed, there’s a noticeable jerk. I’ll take it to the service center in two months and see what they say.
