Off to North Wales Easter time. First long journey in standard EV. Any advice on planning the journey, charging stops ect would be very helpful. Regards RTB

I just made my first really long trip - 2000 km x 2. I found ABRP to be a great planning tool, allowing the most efficient charging. The price is very reasonable and you can end the subscription at any time (after the trip) and recommence for the next trip.

I guess you will be using the A55 express way down the coast then ?.
How far down the A55 are you travelling ?.
Once you hit the start of the A55 at Sealand, there is a good choice of rapid chargers available on route.

Not sure where you are starting from.

From Swansea, I was easiliy able to get to Welshpool, a beautiful drive and about 90 miles. I used the Osprey Chargers there, and then to the Lake District.

Do you use an app for charging, like Electroverse for example.
I plan a distance in my journey that is around the 40% left mark. I use Google maps and see where that is from my house and then put the area in the Electroverse app.
I then just note all the charging stations that are enroute.

The car has a find a charger in the navigation, I have never used it but it is an option.

I have done the North Wales trip from Yorkshire and there are plenty of options.

👍😎

I used the chargers at Aberystwyth Library of Wales last week and could not get above 25kW on the CCS connection. A MG5 was also there and they couldn't get much more than 37.5kW

The chargers are Tritium / Fuuse.

Anyone got better rates than this either at the Library or on this type of charging station?
