Hi, just joined as I have booked a test drive in ZS Trophy Connect long range, not made the jump to Ev yet, just asking if there is any specifics to look out for, it’s a 24reg with 8k on the clock, showing mileage should be around the 250 mile range, is this on a very good day weather wise and condition etc, or is it nearer 200 miles.
My biggest problem is getting my wife not to feel anxiety re mileage, we only do 6-8k a year if that, with only a few long trips ie down to Surrey etc from Rugby, so I am trying to understand that 90% of the charging will be done from home, that’s the other issue of having to get charger installed at about £1k from EON our supplier.
Any help most grateful, Thnx

I bought one in Jan 25 & have done 7.8k miles. Mainly painless & I love the car but the t box failed 3 months ago and MG UK have now tried 4 times to fix it. That means no connectivity,SOS emergency call or sat nav.
If you have cash buy a more premium brand like Kia. If not get a good warranty the MG one is not as the headline 7 years on all the bits.

Usable range in winter is 180- 190 miles more like 230 in summer. But 180 miles = 3 hrs driving and as I am close to 70 after that a pit stop for me & the car plus a coffee is no issue. Loads of apps to help, I use electroverse

Range anxiety does stop once to have made a few journeys, and with more chargers being installed each month, if you manage your trips it gets easier as time goes by. Once you have a few trips under your belt, you will find that all these apps charging apps you load onto you phone, you will only need one or two Electroverse and ABRP which I've subscribed too when we have journeyed to an area of the country we have not visited before in the EV, outside of the cars fully chartered range, Even at this time of the year (February) we have managed two get 4miles/kWh even in the rain.

We have a British Gas Alfen S-Line charger installed back in June 23, and a really back first 6 months (my tail on on here somewhere!!), and 98% of the time it chargers the car correctly. Just found out that our MG goes to sleep after 10 hours so plugging in really early could be an issues (a habit I have got into as we are both retired, have to change that to get use to plugging-in at 9:00pm. But If you can afford the capital outlay the £1,000 plus for a home charger it is repaid quicker than you may think, £2.10 /130 miles over public charging of around £29.75....

When I bought mine 2 years ago it was a very similar buy as your option.
It was almost 2 year old with 6k miles.
I have since done another 30k, average about 14k - 15k a year.

I charge at home over with a ohm pro on my Octopus cheap ev tariff about 85% of the time.
I do lots of long journeys of 500 miles in a weekend once or twice a month and easily do regular journeys of 150 - 200 every week.

Someone on here advised me when I asked questions like your questions, to just drive it and enjoy.

I have never looked back and can't ever imagine going back to an engine car.
