Keys - Fob/App/Card/Mechanical

Seen a couple of posts about people only carrying the fob and having a problem, so what do you have with you? I carry all 4 and have the mech key tucked into the leather holder with my fob.

I carry the app on my phone & the card ( the wife grabbed the fob!). I just hope that eventually we can get walk to - walk away, I’ll probably then just use the phone ( if it all works)

Yep. In my experience that is always best. Moreover, it is no effort. The fob and mech key are together in my leather holder on my key ring. I always have my phone with me and my wallet - and I keep the card in the wallet.

I don't usually have it with me.
The card is a bit awkward to carry unless you use a wallet.

Got mine placed in a holder on my key ring ( got it from Ali-express) a little on the large size but it works for me so that I don’t lose it. Tempted to buy another fob from them ( about £70) but a little worried how much it would cost to get it programmed, also hoping we get auto lock / unlock then just the phone will do the job

Can the card fit in a wallet/card holder then? And does it still have to be booped on the pillar or can you just tickle the door handle to lock and unlock?

Do any of the options allow you keep the fob/card/phone in your pocket the whole time or do you have to get them out to unlock and start the car? I think I read using the app as a key means you have open it up and start tapping settings to get anywhere? No proximity-based validation or anything like that

Hi Rob
Yes you still have to put the card up to the centre pillar and put on the charging pad to start the car.
If you use the app on your phone it’s one tap to open the doors and then another tap to switch it on ( that’s when it works). As mentioned earlier it will be so much better if we can get walk up/ walk away locking on the app.

Cheers Don, yeah a true handsfree option would be much better. I'll maybe stick one of those holders in my basket along with the badge blackouts

The card fits in a wallet as it is no bigger than a credit card. You can keep the fob in your pocket and unlock/start the card.

Thanks Mike, fob sounds like the main choice for me then. I know it probably makes me seem super lazy not wanting to reach into my pocket, it's just what I've got used to
