I have been going round in circles with MG Customer Services trying to find out when this icon is meant to be on.

The manual says when LKA is activated.

On my car this icon is not showing when LKA is set in the MG Pilot screen I do not see this icon on the cluster display on my MGS5. Occasionally I see the icon flash on I suspect when I drift out of lane but not sure.

MG have told me the icon is on when the system is active, I have tried to be explicit and say to them 'Do you mean in standby waiting to warn me if I drift out of lane' and the response was when the system is active! They have now told me my car has a defect if this icon is not showing and the LKA must be faulty so please book. dealer diagnostic appointment. LKA is working, get beeps, I get red lines on the driver alert display, I get the car tugging me back into lane if I veer off.

Can I ask the real experts, other owners on here, when you have LKA turned on in MG Pilot do you get the green icon on the display cluster or is nothing shown. If I disable the LKA I do get a yellow version of this icon showing.

I suspect all is working on LKA and I am just expecting it to work in the same way as my Kona which had LKWarning and LKAssist, two different green icons to show when on and in standby waiting to beep or assist as you drift out of lane. I really don't want to pay for a diagnostic appointment at the dealer just because MG don't know how their system works hence asking on here.

Thanks

John

mine I have only seen as a warning when it’s not been working in amber , was told by dealer the sensor at the top of the windscreen is dirty .

Thanks everyone...this is exactly how I thought it worked...this is what MG eventually came back with, as clear as mud!

"Thank you for contacting MG Motors UK.

After discussing the matter with our internal team.

I can confirm that the light stays on to let you know that it is activated and if you veer of the road. Then it will notify you, then adjust accordingly."
