Launch control - MGS5

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has successfully managed a launch control start?

I've tried the MG4 method (OG and current) but no luck, power creeps to 50% in about 3 seconds and then resets to 0%.

Settings for 50%;

• ESC disabled (got me to 50% rather than 30 something)
• Regen level 1 or 3
• Sport mode
• auto hold disabled (made no difference)
• good 80-100kg force on the brake pedal.

For those unaware, the MG4 has a launch control which works on all models (age of car changes the technique). In an MG4 the power shoots to 60% with both brake and accelerator pressed, when the brake is released you launch. The MGS5 is built on the same architecture, therefore no reason it shouldn't be possible.

I'm not interested in a discussion about why I want to or whether its safe to do.

I own a MGS5 and would never even think to try . .but more to the point, having read the user manual cover to cover and watching all of the reviews in English on YouTube . . not a single mention anywhere of this "feature". I strongly doubt MG would have included this "feature" in a SUV.

Attach it to a 991 with Launch Control. My mate has this option on his and hasn't used it very much

Why would you not want to launch control start.
