Just bought the brand new MGS5 2 days ago, found the carbin filter is wet and dirty, there must be some leakage from the enclosure but I don't know where, everything seems tight, checked the rest of the stock at the dealer, the same, all cars (S5) have the same issue.

Could you check yours, anybody has the same thing, how to solve that?
Thanks!

Wow, it seems a common issue.
I went to the dealer and their solution is simple, open the rain collection cover, apply sealing (recommand self-adhesive water resistant type in case of service in the future) around the area of the inlet of the air conditioner, assemble the parts you disassembled back then it is fixed.

I checked the results by using super strong car wash machine and drving in rainstorm, all try.

You can do it yourself as well since it's just 2 nuts+several clips.

Attached a picture for your reference.

The root cause for this I believe is:
There actually is a compelete seal covers the whole window, but this seal is made of NBR which is too hard to create a seal just by the compression from a weak plastic rain collection cover, then leakage occors.

Thanks for the solution. My dealer doesn't know about the problem. He also asked MG but they didn't give him a solution.

No sweat, you may can do it by yourself or together with the dealer, quite easy.

What made you look? Is it all cars? Interesting to know if all cars affected? before I try to take to bits thanks.
