Lost keys- drive away from dropped keys outside car.

I cannot find my keys. Is it possible to drive the MGev away from keys dropped on the ground outside the drivers door?

I have been driving the car then got out and my wife jump in the drivers seat and drove off but I had the keys in my pocket...
That's in MG5 SR.

Yes you can drive without the key once it's started up.
It gives you an audible warning beep and a notice on the dash when the key goes outside the vehicle.
Being able to drive without the key is a safety feature to prevent the car turning off and suddenly stopping if the key battery goes flat while you're driving.
