Some Tesla destination chargers can be used by anyone. Some others are Tesla only.

I can only think that Musk sees superchargers as a cash cow now they have been installed. I wouldn't be happy if I owned a Tesla as I would have thought part of the car purchase price was for supercharger access. Just my opinion but I don't think the cars are worth their purchase price without access to the supercharger network.

I’ve never seen any - are they in the uk? So the red and white superchargers are not opened up - there are specific white chargers for non-Tesla cars?

They are destination chargers, usually 7kW.

Oh - ok. Explains why I’ve never come across them. I though all Tesla chargers were superchargers!
