Maybe An Idea To Renew VED Before The Budget

Agree, EVs now paying 195 quid and clapped out old diesels paying 35 quid. Me Nephews just paid 20 quid for his 12 year old Focus petrol, does seem ludicrous.
But have to say good luck to them, it's not the owners fault. It's the crazy government. 🤷‍♂️ 🙄🤪

Aye I’ve just paid £195 for my electric Berlingo and my daughter is about to pay £20 to put her “new to her” nine year old diesel Berlingo on the road.
The world is ill divided.

Well it just goes to show ya, there is some benefit to owning a smelly old diesel. :(

(y) but think of how much more damaging your heavy EV is compared to those lightweight Focus and Golfs ;)

only kidding.
300kgs of a difference between a newish golf and my Born.
Add in a couple of anti EV flag sh*****r types in the seats and it will be all even 😉

Also, don't forget that in 2028 we will be paying 1.5/3p per mile as well.
So a quick calculation of 6500 miles per year is £195 @3p per mile
I hope you don't think that will be instead of the VED ... of course it will be on top of it. ;)
