Just joined my fellow Lancastrian , Salty, with a letter from the authorities saying I've been a bit naughty with the right foot. We live just near the border of Correze ( 90 kmph ) and the Lot ( 80 kmph ) , yes different speed limits for different departments. I know the road in question well and there are no radars but on this occasion one of those sneaky unmarked cars went unnoticed and decided crossing the border was going to cost me, 45 euros to be exact. ( +10 kmph ). Luckily this did not attract any points , or our case a reduction in points.
Now here's the thing , the MG is in my wife's name , so she got the letter , shouldn't laugh but heh heh , and because no points are at stake she has took the hit. Being the generous type I paid the fine , should I have stuck to my guns and said " Its your car , your ultimate responsibility " get yer purse out . I was driving it at her bequest!

Its done !! No-one reads my posts anyway..... as its not going further than paying a fine it should be OK. If points were involved we would have send the letter back with an amendment to me as a named driver to comply with the legalities.... but where's the fun in that.

That was a sort of result, BigAl. No points, "only" 45 euros (40 quid) and even ya Mrs took the rap. Your heart does sink though, when you open the letter.
