Yes.

To qualify for the MG Affinity Programme discount, you must be employed by (or retired from) the NHS, Fire Police, public sector or teaching. Small business owners can also qualify.

Customers who purchase a new electric MG through the Energy Savings Trust 0% electric car loan also qualify.

I'm retired local government worker and I was approved. Still waiting for the car though.

I qualified for this and the detail underlying the criteria was "retired and in receipt of a pension".
