MG HS PHEV 2025 Alarms with passenger in parked car

I want to park the car and get out for a few minutes, leaving my passenger in the car. If I leave with the key, will the car time out and lock itself?
If I leave with the key, and leave ignition button in the ON state, the bongs start to remind me the ignition is still on.
If I leave the key in the car somewhere, the bongs start reminding me to take the key with me!

It seems a dumb newbie question I know, but I am asking it anyway.....

Not sure if this is what you want to achieve (and I have not tested this), but would the following achieve what you want?
1. Exit the car, taking the key with you
2. Ask whoever is left in the car to press the 'central locking' button:

=> Then they are safely locked in (but I suspect that this does not switch the alarm on )

3. When you return, you can unlock the car with your key if you like.

Not sure if this achieves what you want, but it's a thought...
