MG ISMART App - cannot register with phone number?

Looking forward to using the MG EV ZS in Hong Kong, but can't seem to be able to register my phone number and receive the verification code to create an account on the app.
I even tried to use a UK SIM to receive the SMS verification code but it didn't work.

Anyone else encountered the same problem and solved this issue? Any help is appreciated.

You don't really need it you can get a verification code using email set up instead

Hello, downloaded the app...get through to verification number enter password, then nothing just a screen with no highlighted area to accept ? can you help ?
