Is it just me or does anyone else feel that the iSmart app is useless. It never works when you need it. I have had my MG S5 EV for 2 days now and the app worked only once. I can never get it to work. It takes forever to load and when it does it says "Time Out. Please try again later".

I would not describe as useless . . but poorly written and bloated clearly. I've never seen your "Time Out. Please try again later" message . . but I nearly always get a "Operation underway - please wait" message when trying to issue any commands to the car. For me, it does show the SOC % correctly and I once did test it to unlock the car. What I've yet to figure out is how to use it actually start and drive the car without a key. I've given up on that feature for now. I'm on Android, not Apple - just FYI.

Really ? I always get timeout.

To start the car first you need to go to digital key management and follow the instructions.

Yes, I frequently get time out error messages. Makes the app unreliable, even if he car has just been unlocked and locked.

Welcome Bhubiz, this forum is really global😃. Just yesterday ismart came up with 'token expired' which means you have to log back in, I think it's a security measure. However, after loading the app I had to renew the password which involved a verification code that lasted ten minutes. It wouldn't accept a password generated by my iPhone as there were dashes in it, which it didn't like. As I attempted to delete these dashes, and with finger trouble on the small keys, it timed out on me🤬. This happened several times. 🤬 I decided to make up my own password and I managed to get logged in within the allotted time. In doing so it revealed an update to the layout. It seemed to be quicker as well. The version I have is 3.1.0. Maybe you should check the version and see if it's up to date. Other than that it works OK, to refresh the screen just pull it down and you should get a wee rotating symbol to show its refreshing. Hope this helps.

Hey I followed your advice about logging out and logging back in. The app is slow but it worked and have not been facing the "time out" issue.
Thanks

My app updated on Wednesday just as I went to pre-cool my car before getting in. I had to do the whole logging in with verification code thing, only now the app won’t work at all!

I’ve emailed customer services about it already and I’m waiting for a response, but the app says my car isn’t bound. I go to bind my car using the QR code process but then the app says the car is already bound. So the app thinks the car is both not bound AND bound and it won’t let me access anything at all. It won’t let me unbind the car and restart the process because I need access to the app to unbind it.

I’ve tried deleting the app, logging in and out, checked it’s the latest version, turned phone off and on, car off and on.

I feel your frustration, at least I was able to get mine working…eventually. It seems very buggy 🦗🦗😏
As it happens, I used the A/C to cool the car down remotely yesterday… not something you have to do very often here in Scotland…scorchio 😀🥵🌞

I’ve got exactly the same problem as you Pavonine and it happened at the same time. I’ve emailed customer service too but no response yet.

Oh that’s good to know I’m not the only one. They responded and asked for specific details of my car, phone model etc but since then I haven’t heard anything, it’s only been a couple of days though and I don’t know if they’ll respond over the weekend. It’s not a big deal but I was going on there to put the A/C on like Joules so a little frustrating that on the day I actually remembered I could do that it wouldn’t let me 😂
