Anyone tried to get this APP (MG Link) working on the MG's here in Europa and not just the Asia cars running on
the i-SMART platform shown in this video by "Captain DIY" ?

No we don't have the firmware installed on our infotainment systems, however we have AndroidAuto instead, which is far more powerful.
You can get two way mirroring working as explained in following post, it requires an app called Screen2Auto.
