That is a very good introduction to the MGS6. I like the physical buttons and the fact that you can customise the driving parameters.

Just bought one yesterday (Trophy Long Range) to replace a leased Mk2 MG ZS EV. Absolutely loving it.

Yes, I did a couple of test drives in both the MGS5 and MGS6.

I've really enjoyed the ZS over the last 3 years but both the S5 & S6 are massive upgrades in terms of quality feel and refinement. Hopefully the actual quality will also be better - after 3 years the ZS driver seat is losing its support and has cracked on the bolster and the lacquer has failed on the wheel trims.

In the end I liked the extra size of the S6, more comfortable ride, better interior finish, more bells & whistles (ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, memory function on driver's seat and powered passenger seat, panaramic roof, frunk). I also really like the HUD, which wasn't even on the wish list when we booked the test drive.

We got the single motor Trophy Long Range model in gold with the grey interior.

Only niggles so far are:

• the sound system in default setting was quite tinny, but has improved with changing the EQ settings, and
• the regen level resets to level 1 on start up (it doesn't appear to be stored with the MG Pilot Custom setting). Still getting used to it so may be user error.
• the S6 loses the rearview mirror USB socket for a dashcam, but gains an automatically dimming mirror which I think is a fair trade off.

I'm still getting my head around the infotainment system functions such as online services, wifi & hotspot. I think this is largely the same as the S5 but there is no description of the functionality in the manual.

The price was a steal at £9,695 off list price (much to the amazement of our local dealer) which made it a no-brainer decision to go for the S6 over the S5. I doubt that I could buy this level of luxury at a similar price elsewhere.

I bought from stock. The dealer was motivated to complete the sale before year end to meet their sales numbers with MG. I think the salesman said they’d already sold 6 since the launch at the start of the month!

Our local dealers only had a couple of demonstrators each and were expecting deliveries in February for new orders.
