Hi Folks,

The MG service plan site is quoting me over £2000 for 5 services.

But as I own other vehicles I rarely do more than 1000 miles per year in my SUV.
The 2019 Ford Edge that I recently PX'd for my 2026 HS PHEV. Had only covered 6400 miles.

Therefore, I'd like to think that I could haggle a far more sensible/fair servicing plan for 5yrs with my particular MG?
But do you guys think that's a possibility or just an unrealistic pipe dream? 🤔

Any dealerships reading this within a sensible distance of North Northamptonshire. That could offer such a deal would be greatly appreciated.
I plan to keep the car for 10yrs. But the servicing prices are definitely OTT.

Especially (as I'm a cynical old git) therefore I can envisage any main dealer spotting the crazy low mileage each year. And doing nothing more than wiping the cam cover with an oily rag. But still charging me the full service rate!

Or.......
Alternatively, can I get the HS serviced at a local VAT reg'd garage using genuine MG parts & still maintain the 7yr warranty?
If so, how do I obtain a full list of what's done/replaced at each service from year 1 to year 7?

No worries, it was still worth me asking Rolfe.
Annoyingly (in fact incredibly so) I'm more than capable of doing everything that doesn't involve the high voltage battery side of things.
And obviously as it's my vehicle. I'd spend far longer on the jobs to ensure that it's perfect.
For me, it wouldn't just be to 10am job on my daily job sheet.

You can see what needs changing at each service here, and yes any garage can do the service as long as they use genuine MG parts, you won't get it recorded on the MG digital service database, but it will satisfy the warranty conditions.
Cheers Clive but that only shows the first service. Which unsurprisingly is only an oil & oil filter change.
Is there a full list of year 1 to year 7?
If the £1000 service at year 4 involves anything that needs to be MG specific. I'll let MG do it.
I just don't fancy getting stiffed for basic maintenance that any competent ICE mechanic can carry out.

Awesome!
Thank you Sir! 🤟
In light of that, it's unlikely to ever see the inside of an MG dealership.
There's nothing on there that any VAT reg'd garage couldn't do for 25% of MG's crazy price.
There's not even any mention of anything to do with the high voltage battery ***! 🙄

It might be worth getting the first and perhaps the second service done at an MG dealer so any software updates can be installed.
